It's current playing at Newtown Theatre, starring Mairead Berne, John Keightley, Kim Knuckey, Neil Phipps, Sandy Velini and Cheryl Ward.

AUSTRALIA COUNCIL GRANT

Focus Theatre was awarded a New Work Creative Development grant by the Theatre Board of the Australia Council.

The project was a verbatim theatre inspired new work based on stories of queer criminals and gender deception in Sydney from the mid-early twentieth century to the present day.

Work has been progressing over the past few months.

Actors Julia Billington, Sam Haft, Garth Holcombe,Neil Phipps and Alice Livingstone have conducted interviews and presented characterisations in workshop.

Mark Adnum has been doing extensive research on gender identity and trans issues.

A first draft of work-in-progress was given a round-table reading by a group of actors including Kate Box, Jeanette Cronin, Sam Haft and Alice Livingstone.

Lachlan has now completed the second draft. The next stage is a workshop reading with dramaturg.
