Focus Theatre in association with B Sharp will present Marin Sherman's classic play BENT as part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.

AUSTRALIA COUNCIL GRANT

Focus Theatre has been awarded a New Work Creative Development grant by the Theatre Board of the Australia Council.

The award is to develop PASSING, a verbatim theatre inspired new work based on stories of queer criminals and gender deception in Sydney from the mid-early twentieth century to the present day.

PASSING will be a collaboration between Focus Theatre Artistic Director Pete Nettell and Associate Director Alice Livingstone, playwright Lachlan Philpott (author of BISON and winner of the 2009 Griffin Playwrights Award), four performers and a team of designers.
